Storks is an animated movie about Amazon if it were run by, well, storks. Ok maybe not really, but its still a pretty accurate representation of the movie. Its a journey had by a human and a stork to deliver a baby from company that doesn't deliver babies anymore. It plays off of the old myth that babies are delivered by storks from the sky, which is a cover for bad parenting anyways.
The movie is a straight up comedy that relies on some adult humor and simple humor to get the audience laughing. It seems this movie for me is in the same vein as The Secret Life of Pets, another animated movie that came out this year. What I mean by that is, they partake in the same type of comedy. It is the same stuff that you see in children's television shows that have been reused so many times nothing seems fresh. So if you thought the humor was great in that movie, then you will like this one. This opinion usually flies in the face of people that don't watch children's TV, so that demographic will like this movie.
There was a reoccurring spectacular part in the movie that truly made me laugh each time it was used. It involved the wolves from the poster and their pack. It was greatly executed and I had never seen it before so it felt fresh and was not just a simple gag. The animation was nice and clean and had a unified aesthetic like all other animated movies.
There was not too much that set this movie apart from other animated movies this year. You could probably go your entire life without seeing this movie and not have any repercussions, so pend your time with something else.
